Readers like to support authors they like and other than buying their books, they may not really know what else to do to show that support. I found a great video tutorial on a fellow author's blog the other day that explains how to like, share, tag and post reviews of your favorite books on Amazon. The post is dated in September of 2011, but I just ran across it and wanted to share it with you.
I can't begin to tell you how important these things are to authors. Please take a few minutes to watch this short video tutorial that Michael Hicks shares on his blog. Good points here, Robert. There are a couple of groups on http://www.goodreads.com/ that do exactly that, though it does tend to be authors reviewing authors and often the reviews are less than objectively critical. I guess my concern is that over-inflating reviews will reduce the value of them to readers and we'll all lose in the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, Stuart! I agree with you. We don't want to over-inflate reviews and reduce their value. I'm always open to honest reviews. I didn't know about the groups on Goodreads, but I was referring to individual readers who want to support authors they like.
